The Holiday season is upon us! A time of endless get-togethers, house-hopping visits, dinners, brunches, gift exchanges, and PARTIES. What's the best part of any day, especially during the holidays? Dessert, of course!
As famed chef Julia Child once said, “A party without cake is just a meeting”, and because we love the sweet stuff here at THE FEED, we decided to put together a list of our favorite "Sweet-Tooth Approved" recipes to keep everyone happy during the coming holidays!
Croissant Bread Pudding
This is the newest addition to our FEED dessert category, and we already consider it a "new classic". Wonderful with a topping of fresh fruit & crème fraîche, caramel syrup, or banana ice cream, we dare you to find someone that doesn't like this bread pudding!
Chocolate Zucchini Bread
This luscious cake has been a FEED subscriber favorite for a while! It comes to us from owner Ryan MacDonnell's mother-in-law, and has been enjoyed by countless family members over the years. Go ahead and tell yourself you're eating your vegetables like a responsible adult - you're not wrong.
Afternoon tea is the perfect time to unveil these buttery, elegant shortbread-style biscuits, but they also impress just as well with after-dinner coffee. We find that kids love to help make these because it gives them the excuse to put their hands in their food - on purpose.
Created by our winery chef Jamie Prouten, these brilliant jars of chocolate and meringue elevate this campfire classic to formal dinner level. Added bonus: less messy for the kiddies, and they can be made ahead of time!
Pumpkin Pie Milkshake
The perfect way to re-invent your left over Thanksgiving pumpkin pie! It's as simple as it sounds: a thick slab of pumpkin pie, a bit of milk, and loads of ice cream. Topped with a swirl of whipped cream (bonus points if you can sneak a squirt straight from the can) and a dash of pumpkin pie spice on top, it's a winner all around.
Greek Yogurt Cheesecake
This Greek Yogurt Cheesecake would leave even Persephone wanting more. Deliciously creamy with the sweet-tartness of pomegranates, it's a beautiful dessert fit for the gods.
Raspberry Angel Pie
Great chefs must run in Chef Jamie's family, because this pretty raspberry pie is his grandmother's specialty. It's no wonder - does it get any better than a flaky meringue crust, fresh berries, and whipped cream? We don't think so.
Caramel and chocolate is a match made in heaven (so many candy companies can't be wrong), and the crunchy cookie layer at the bottom of these "millionaire shortbread"- style bars make this dessert one in a million.
