Napa_Hikes_Feature.jpg

But it’s an extraordinarily beautiful place too, and we here at Round Pond find there’s no better way to get up close and personal with Napa’s glorious views than on a hike. So take a detour from the well-trodden path from wineries to restaurants and explore our favorite hiking spots in and around Napa. You can even pack a picnic and a bottle of Round Pond for your reward at the end of the trail.

Our Top Hiking Spots in Napa

Moore Creek Park

"Moore Creek is a fantastic new area recently opened up in the Lake Hennessey area. You can hike into a refreshing tiny swimming hole (our kids' favorite) or up a steep wide trail to a majestic view overlooking Lake Hennessey and the Mayacamas mountains beyond. I love both these hikes because they each have a treat at the pinnacle of the hike – whether a rewarding view or a satisfying dip in the water!" - Ryan Macdonnell, Owner

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park

"Robert Louis Stevenson park there are three trails, I’ve done two: the Palisades, and Table Rock. Very strenuous but rewarding. The trail head starts at Robert Louis Stevenson Park, ends in Calistoga right across the street from this pizza place, cold Sauvignon Blanc and pizza tastes so much better after a grueling hike." - Katherine Lautenbach, Wine Club & eCommerce Manager

Table Rock Trail

"Gorgeous 3 hour hike with stunning views of Napa Valley looking south and west with awesome “rock art” along the way." - Diane Cline, National & International Director of Sales

Skyline Wilderness Park

"Some killer views of Napa and on clear days almost San Francisco! Several trails to choose from and even a frisbee golf course!" - Christina Blandon, Tasting Room Coordinator

Napa Palisades Trail

"Palisades in Calistoga is beautiful whether you bike it or hike with the kiddos!" - Chris Salvatierra, Wine & Gourmet Food Educator

Rector Reservoir Wildlife Area

"Steep to start but beautiful panoramic views of wine country." - Katherine Lautenbach, Wine Club & eCommerce Manager

Westwood Hills Park

"It is a total locals hike spot. I’ve been doing it since I was a teenager." - Nicole Glaze, Trade Sales & Marketing Assistant

Alston Park

"Also has a dog park that is really popular." - Nicole Glaze, Trade Sales & Marketing Assistant

And though not in Napa, Chef Eric loves this hike...and it's close enough to Napa that we had to include it!

Quarryhill Botanical Garden

"I know it doesn't fit the parameters, but I love love love Quarryhill in Sonoma on highway 12 at Glen Ellen Road." - Eric Maczko, Executive Chef
