We are always on the hunt for new local treasures!

our 2016 favorites:

Their Story: "As producers, consumers and employers within Napa’s foodshed, we aim to establish a more sustainable, community-minded eatery by promoting the people, products and resources of our unique locality. Simply put, we believe that eating that promotes Napa Valley’s foodshed tastes better. It also happens to be better for us, the environment and the local economy. That’s why our hand-crafted pizzas and pastas are based on fresh, seasonal ingredients, and why we seek out locally sourced whole grains and produce and farmers employing sustainable practices."

Our Tip: Try their hand-made pasta and the Lemon Meringue Pie!

Their Story: "Our aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. The twist is evident in the menus, which sample fare from around the globe. Guests can choose from traditionally prepared Mexican Empanadas or timeless American favorites like the Lamb Burger and St. Louis Ribs. Other options include Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Chinese Chicken Salad and Seasonal Risotto. Our Wine & Beer List includes local wines leaning toward small producers & craft brews."

Our Tip: Bring your favorite bottle of wine, because there is no corkage fee!

Their Story: "Clemente's at Val's is an authentic Italian Takeout founded by past owner and chef for the Depot Restaurant in Napa. Yes, you found the right place, home of the Malfatti!"

Our Tip: When we go, we go for the Malfatti, which has some interesting Napa history. Take in your own pans and they will fill them up with ravioli & Malfatti by the dozen.

Their Story: "Butter Cream Bakery was born in 1948, when David and Bobbi Closs acquired a small donut shop on Yajome St. Word of their donuts spread quickly and before long, people were asking for pies, breads and more. Dave baked a wedding cake for a friend's daughter and suddenly they were in the cake business. Soon a grill was purchased and breakfast was served. David and Bobbi Closs spent a lifetime of working together to produce donuts, pastries, cookies and breads. From nothing they built a business that brought them much success, happiness and meaning. That legacy continues within the family today."

Our Tip: Buttercream is the best "greasy spoon/hangover cure" breakfast and pastries around!

Their Story: "Juan and Maria Lopez arrived in Napa in 1989 in search of a better life. Although it was hard for them to adjust to being far from their families, the perseverance with which they crossed the border from Mexico continued within them as they opened Las Palmas."

Our Tip: Make sure you try the amazing "Seafood Tower". Simply yummy.

Their Story: "Celadon is the inspiration of celebrated chef Federico Guillen. Enjoy (our) award-winning 'Global Comfort Food' in our beautiful dining room or in the lovely courtyard. The seasonally influenced menu features flavors from the Mediterranean, Asia, and the Americas. We are located in the Historic Napa Mill, downtown Napa's exciting new entertainment complex."

Our Tip: Sitting in the Fireside Patio is the best part of lunch or dinner here.

Their Story: "Located in the heart of the Napa Valley, Ciccio features a dynamic, yet simple menu of pizzas and Italian entrees driven by our beautiful wood-fire oven and locally sourced ingredients (some of which come from our own gardens at the Altamura Ranch.)"

Our Tip: Make sure you go early because they don't take reservations. Their wood-fired pizzas are the best in the valley, especially the Margherita

Their Story: "Executive Chef John McConnell has embraced a traditional yet fresh approach to Northern Italian cuisine, fueled by ingredients from the certified organic Clif Family Farm and local purveyors. The Clif Family Bruschetteria serves a seasonal menu of bruschetta, spiedini, porchetta, farm fresh salads and rotisserie chicken."

Our Tip: The porchetta is a must try!

Their Story: Owner Bill Wilcoxson pit smokes the brisket, pulled pork, tri-tip, chicken, and ribs that make up his hearty menu. These meats are also available for sale by the pound, along with salads, sides, and freshly baked pastries.

Our Tip: Ribs and brisket are smoked daily and always delicious.

DABBA FOOD TRUCK - North Bay & Napa, Ca
Their Story: "The name Dabba (Hindi for "lunchbox") was inspired by a complex food delivery system in Mumbai that is run by a network of delivery men called "dabbawalas." For over a century they have been ferrying dabbas filled with hot, home-cooked lunches from kitchens to customers at their office doorsteps (and back), with near clockwork precision."

Our Tip: Follow the Dabba Food Truck on Twitter or Instagram to find out when they are next coming to town. The Chicken and Pumpkin tacos are the best!
