Hamburgers With Red Wine BBQ Sauce


Try this tasty,  tangy hamburger recipe next time you want to grill this summer!

Pairs with our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

Ingredients for Hamburgers
3 lbs fresh ground beef
3 cloves garlic, smashed
1 small yellow onion, minced
1 whole jalapeño, seeded and minced
3 whole eggs, whipped
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup bread crumbs or oatmeal
¼ cup Round Pond Cabernet-Merlot Blend Red Wine Vinegar
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup prepared mustard
3 Tbsp molasses
3 tsp rosemary, chopped
3 tsp marjoram, chopped
3 tsp thyme leaves
1 cup parmesan cheese, very finely grated

Ingredients for Red Wine BBQ Sauce
1 1/2 -2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Round Pond Cabernet-Merlot Blend Red Wine Vinegar
2 Tbsp molasses
1 Tbsp agave nectar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp hot pepper sauce
1/4 tsp Ancho chili powder
Kosher salt, to taste
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

For the Hamburgers
Gently cook minced onions in 2 Tbsp olive oil over med-low heat until soft and translucent, then add garlic and cook 1-2 min. In a very large bowl, mix the onion garlic mixture with the rest of the ingredients until fully combined. Press into ¼ pound patties for hamburgers. Grill the hamburgers on a medium-hot grill, about 4-7 minutes on each side. Remove from heat; Serve with our Red Wine BBQ Sauce.

For the BBQ Sauce
Mix all ingredients together. Taste and adjust ingredients according to personal preference. To serve as a dipping sauce with Ground Beef Meat balls, put ingredients into a small saucepan. Add 2/3 cup water; heat to simmer for a few minutes. Serve warm. Do not add water if using for grilled hamburgers.
