Grandma Jean's Molasses Cookies

Handed down by our Brand Manager's Grandma Jean - the recipe for these molasses cookies was handed down to Grandma Jean by her Great Aunt Ann. Making its way through the generations, this cookie recipe is still a Hunter family favorite!

2 cups brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
4 Tbsp distilled white vinegar
3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1 cup molasses
4 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350*.

Mix all wet ingredients together. Then mix all dry ingredients together, then mix dry ingredients in with wet until incorporated. Form the dough into walnut sized balls and place cookies 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake for about 8 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
