Happy Dog Peanut Butter Carrot Cake

DOG & HUMAN-FRIENDLY!

Finally, a yummy cake recipe that you can share with your four-legged pal.  Celebrate your pup's big day with this carrot-peanut recipe that has a smooth banana frosting.  It works just as well in cupcake form so everyone gets a chance to party!

Ingredients 

Cake:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup agave syrup or honey (use honey for adult dogs only!)
1 egg

Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese
2 large, very ripe bananas, pureed
1 tsp cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350F.  Mix together flour and baking soda, and add the rest of the ingredients, mixing thoroughly.  Pour into a small round cake pan* or cupcake/muffin tin and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.  Remove, let cool.

For frosting, mix all ingredients together and frost cake or cupcakes as desired.  Decorate with sprinkles, sliced banana and peanuts, or as above with our Peanut Butter (Doggie) Cookies!

*double recipe to make a 2 layer cake
